Cheyenne is the type of dog that gives me a surge of excitement every single time I take her out of the box. She has an explosive, objective based field search. Her movement if very flowing and fluid; that combined with her intense desire to produce game, dead or alive, makes her a kennel favorite. The dog is very cooperative; despite her ground eating field search, she prefers hunting "with" the handler. Her tracking and nose work excels; she recovered her first arrowed whitetailed deer in the dark of the night at just 5 and 1/2 months old that was otherwise left for lost by the archer! Despite the power she delivers to my hunting team, she is very easy to live with as she is quiet in the crate, kennel, and inside our house and hunting lodge. Mentally she is tough; one example of this was portrayed on a late season bird hunt in North Dakota in 2020. In the very far side of a section of fallow field, she engaged in a porcupine which resulted in a face full of quills. At the time, my extraction tools were not available in the field which meant a one mile journey back to the truck where field trauma medicine could be practiced. During that one mile back to the truck, Cheyenne located two mature rooster pheasants, pointed, and held them for the gun; the dog refuses to quit under any circumstances!

Choco vom Flooded Timber is a stud who expresses excellence on all fronts. He comes from a very accomplished litter of serious hunting dogs who have contributed to the gene pool here in GNA and in Germany. He is a very robust, yet well rounded and balanced hunting dog. His work before and after the shot are both sterling, and his intensity to find down game is shared by very few. Thankfully this was noted/validated by the JGHV performance judges in his performance testing where he earned a 12 for his execution in the search behind the duck. He sired Hildi vom Flooded Timber who is a brood bitch who I own, trained, tested, and bred to produce the E litter von Makoshika. Epping von Makoshika scored very well at the Armbruster the year she ran and placed 6th overall while being handled by a first-time handler. Holly vom Flooded Timber also became breed certified and has been used at the kennel vom Rohstahl in Wisconsin. Choco has a record of throwing his talent, toughness, athleticism, and biddability into his puppies. I am ecstatic thinking about how this pairing will be doubling down on awe-inspiring nose work from both sides of the pedigree. Both specimens are rated very good in form and very good in hair. Both have thrown puppies of the same caliber and physical quality. I expect puppies who will be easy keepers, and who will hunt with intensity and proficiency rivaled by a slim few.
